Dr. Deepak Ronanki is currently working an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Oshawa, Canada in 2019. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Windsor in 2020. Prior to joining the DESE, IIT Delhi he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy, IIT Roorkee, Roorkee, UK, India since 2020. From 2012 to 2016, he was a Power Converters Design Engineer with Electronics Division, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Bengaluru, India. While working he was involved the design and development of power and control modules in 6000 HP Indian locomotive, 1600 HP AC EMU, 500 kW Hotel load converter and 500 kW two-level solar inverter. He received the Best 3-min Ph.D. Thesis Award from IEEE Transportation Electrification Community in 2021, the Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in 2020 and the Outstanding Reviewer Award for the year 2019 from the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics in 2020. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed IEEE technical papers, four patents (filed & published) and ten book chapters. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification, and IEEE Transportation Electrification Community (TEC) eNews Letter. His current research interests include power conversion systems for renewable energy, power electronic converters, advanced control techniques, electric vehicle power trains, traction motor drives, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, electric energy storage systems, and transportation electrification.
