Faculty

Dr. Rahul Goyal is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He received his Master degree in hydro energy (mechanical) from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and PhD in experimental and numerical fluid dynamics (hydraulic turbines) from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and Lulea Technical University, Sweden. He worked as a Guest Researcher during PhD at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway for almost a year (2015) to conduct the experimental and numerical studies on Francis turbine. After PhD, he worked as a Project Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee from August, 2017 to March, 2018. Dr. Rahul has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Laboratoire des Écoulements Géophysiques et Industriels (Laboratory of Geophysical and Industrial Flows), Grenoble-INP, France from April, 2018 to October, 2018. Then, he worked as an Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department at National Institute of Technology, Patna.

Research Interests :

Experimental and numerical (CFD) study on hydraulic turbines during Off-design and Transient operations to increase the efficiency of turbine and to minimize dynamic pressure loading.
