Dr.Debaprasad Sahu received his Master's degree in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) in 2006 and Ph.D. in Experimental Plasma Physics from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) in 2013. His doctoral thesis work was based on development and characterization of an electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) based negative hydrogen ion source. After his PhD, he has been associated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technology (RGUKT) at Basar, Telenganaand Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore as an Assistant Professor from the period of January, 2014 to May, 2015. In June, 2015 he joined as a post-doctoral fellow in Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi where his research work involved design of a multiple ECR source based large negative ion source which can deliver high density negative ion current to be used for future fusion reactor. In August, 2016 he joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering (formally known CES). His current research activities include development and understanding of various ECR based applications, ranging from plasma thruster to plasma based ion implantation. He is also interested in plasma spectroscopy and modelling of magnetized plasma dynamics by computational methods.
